2 Digitization and linking to digitized literature from other sources. In the field of biodiversity informatics AnimalBase is unique in providing links between the names of generic and specific taxa and their digitized original descriptions, with a special focus on literature and names published prior to 1800. ĪnimalBase covers all zoological disciplines. The public use of AnimalBase data is not restricted or conditioned. AnimalBase contributed to opening up the classical taxonomic literature, which is considered as useful because access to early literature (especially for the late 18th century) can be difficult for researchers who need the old sources for their taxonomic research. The goal of the AnimalBase project is to digitize early zoological literature, provide copyright-free open access to zoological works, and provide manually verified lists of names of zoological genera and species as a free resource for the public. In this conference, participants will find a great opportunity to discuss new issues, tackle challenging problems and find advanced enabling solutions which are able to shape new trends in meshfree and novel finite element methods.AnimalBase is a project brought to life in 2004 and is maintained by the University of Göttingen, Germany. The goal of this conference is to bring together academicians, researchers, practicing engineers and scholar students from various industries, research institutes and universities to share the research results of these methods. New and exciting developments of meshfree and novel finite element methods often go beyond the classical theories, incorporate more profound physical mechanisms, and are becoming exclusive numerical tools in addressing the computational challenges which are difficult or impossible to solve by conventional methods. Meshfree and novel finite element methods have emerged as new classes of numerical methods and play an increasingly significant role in teh study of challenging engineering problems. The conference begin with an opening reception on Sunday, September 25, 2022, followed by two days of technical talks and discussions. The conference will be held at the Claremont Club and Spa in Berkeley, California.
